Margaret Charlton Prevatte Culbreth

Wadesboro - Mrs. Margaret Charlton Prevatte Culbreth, 66, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held at 3:00PM Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the ceremony. Margaret was born in Anson County on November 1, 1949, a daughter of Ruth Deese Charlton and the late Henry Sidney Charlton. She had worked in textiles and later as the deli manager for Winn-Dixie. Survivors include her mother, Ruth Charlton of Wadesboro; four children, Charles 'Tony' Prevatte, Jr., Sherry Powell, Randy Prevatte, and Kim Prevatte; a step-son, Shane Culbreth; four grandchildren, Steven Goodwin (April), Brandon Goodwin, Hannah Powell and Kyler Powell; and a great-grandchild, Colt Goodwin. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry Charlton (Betty) and Edd Charlton; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Charlton. Margaret was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Charlton.
