Marion Craig Nifong Mrs. Clarke

Wadesboro - Mrs. Marion Frazier Craig Nifong Clarke, 94, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Aldersgate, Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday, February 20, 2012 in First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro, NC. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00PM at the church. Marion was born in Anson County on March 29, 1917, a daughter of the late George Kennedy and Marion Frazier Craig. She graduated Wadesboro High School and Randolph-Macon College. She taught in the public school system for five years before returning to school at the Garrett Biblical Institute outside of Chicago, IL. She spent the next thirty years engaged in many types of church work. Marion was first married to the Rev. D. Moody Nifong who died in 1986 and later to Robert L. Clarke who died in 2004. Survivors include her step-children, Mrs. Margaret Nifong McDaniel, Dwight M. Nifong Jr., Julia Lee 'Shirley' Nifong, Barbara Clarke Eckhaus, Jerilyn Clarke Forman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
