Wadesboro- Mr. William Marvin Forbes, 80, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Atrium Health NorthEast in Concord. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Perko and Rev. Ronnie Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home and other times at his granddaughters home, Kristy Campbell, 1038 Chewning Road in Wadesboro. Marvin was born November 11, 1938 in Wilson County, NC a son of the late James Harrison Forbes and Margaret Harrell Forbes. He was retired from Verizon Telephone Company as an Installment Technician and following retirement he worked for CMH Flooring as a truck driver. Marvin loved riding motorcycles and taking trips with his motorcycle friends. Surviving are his children, Jane (Steve) Daniels of Charlotte, Missy (Steve) Knotts of Wadesboro, Leon (Susan) Cole of Wadesboro and Lance (Donna) Cole of Norwood; Seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special friend, Peggy Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Almond Forbes and by one sister, Paula Sue Forbes. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
