Mary Lee Ingram Ratliff

WADESBORO - Mrs. Mary Lee Ingram Ratliff, was born in Anson County, (Long Pine Community) Wadesboro, NC on June 1, 1928, to the late Willis Ingram, Sr and Arlena Covington Ingram. She departed this life on June 2, 2025.

She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church. As long as her health permitted she was an active member, and served her church and community in the following capacities: librarian at West Deep Creek High School, financial secretary, Eastern stars, Women in Action, VFW, and a loving teacher assistant for 35 years in Anson County School system (TW Bennett Elementary and Lilesville Elementary Schools).

She received her educational training by attending Anson County school systems at Tillman Station Elementary and West Deep Creek High School. She graduated in 1947 from WDCHS. She furthered her education by receiving an associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Anson Technical College.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Raymond Joseph Ratliff, Sr on October 5, 1947. They were blessed with ten children to cherish their loving memories: Larry (Brenda), of Charlotte, NC, Raymond Jr/Wayne of Rockingham, NC, Gregory (Debra) of Wadesboro, NC, Norris (Elisa) of Gainsville, GA and Gerry Todd who predecease her in life. Barbara of Charlotte, NC, Gwendolyn of Thorton, CO, Pamela of Syracuse, NY, Carolyn of Rockingham, NC and Sechiquita (Victor) of Wadesboro, NC. Two brother-in-laws; Craig Ratliff (Olivia) and Sandy Hubbard. Five sister-in-laws; Marion Thompson, Betty Miller (Bertrum), Polly Emmanuel and Louvenia Flournory. 16 grandchildren, 14 great grands, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great many relatives and friends.

A heartfelt gratitude of kindness for Maxine Baucom Capel for her love and care for our beloved mother Mary Lee Ingram Ratliff.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday at the church.

Public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Leavitt Funeral Home.

The famiy is gathering at the Ratliff home in Wadesboro.
