ANSONVILLE - On Friday, April 10, 2026, Mrs. Mary "Libby" Mauldin Pegram, 84, passed away peacefully at Trinity Place in Albemarle with her family gathered near her bedside.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Monday, April 13, 2026 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Hank Griffin and Mr. Ken Caulder officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Libby was born in Anson County, NC on August 18, 1941, and was a daughter of the late William Armstead Mauldin and the late Margaret Elizabeth Ricketts Mauldin. She had worked for several years at Hornwood but most of her life was spent as a homemaker.

An excellent cook, she was known for her delicious lemon pound cakes. She also enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers and looked forward to opportunities to go shopping.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Wanda Hartsell (Roger) of Mt. Gilead, Junior Pegram (Jennifer) of Ansonville, and Bobby Pegram (Wendy) of Peachland; her grandchildren, Alan Hartsell (Jamie), Melissa Curlee (Eric), Renee Harkey (Gaston), and Kevin Curlee (Laura) all of Norwood, Jennifer Hartsell of Mt. Gilead,Casey Coley )Andrew) of Aquadale, Tyler Pegram (Katie) of Hendersonville, Lee Pegram (Genger) of Pageland, SC and Maggie Griffin (Hank) of Cheraw, SC; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her brother and sister, William Mauldin of Lilesville and Ruby Smith of Ansonville and her nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Pegram, her daughter, Brenda Curlee, her brother, Johnny Mauldin, and her sister, Frances Pegram.

Libby's family is most grateful to the staff of Trinity Place in Albemarle for the love and care they showed her while she was in their care.
