Mildred Broadaway Nance

Wadesboro - Mrs. Mildred Broadaway Nance, 85, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Autumn Care Nursing Facility in Marshville, NC. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday in Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeremiah Johnson and Rev. Angel Christ officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends in the church beginning at 1:00PM. Born in Anson County on August 11, 1931, Mildred was a daughter of the late Joe Hammond and Dovie Kiker Broadaway. She retired as the office manager of Martin Brothers Equipment Co. with 46 years of service and was a longtime member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano for over 60 years. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jo (Cam) Comer of Peachland; her son, Ervin Nance of Wadesboro; two grandchildren, Tracie (Ricky) Carpenter of Peachland and Matthew Comer (fianc, Cindy Wiggins) of Waxhaw; and one great-granddaugher, Alyssa Boone. Mildred dearly loved her church, her music, and her family and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Autumn Care Nursing Facility of Marshville and to the Carolinas Palliative Care and Hospice of Union County for her care.
