Mrs. Myrtle Brock Morris, 94, of Wadesboro, NC, passed on October 15, 2015 at Ridgeland Nursing Center, Ridgeland, SC. A native of Anson County, she was born June 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Brock and Causie Elizabeth White Brock. She was a homemaker, worked with her husband to run a general store, and retired after 22 years with Reeves manufacturing. Myrtle was a longstanding member of Camden Presbyterian Church, over the years participating in summer Bible Schools, the Women of the Church, and the choir. She also served as both Elder and Deacon of the church. Myrtle loved her community, neighbors and extended family. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, sewing, word puzzles, and her cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Morris, and seven siblings: Dewey Brock, Nellie Diggs, Leola Chewning, Flora Bell Gulledge, Izzie Baker, James Brock and Robert Brock. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Morris, of Bluffton, SC, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Monday, October 19, 2015 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Blackwelder and Rev. Carol Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The Morris family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
