Neal Tom Mr. Nixon

Albemarle - Mr. Neal Tom Nixon, 84, died Friday, May 18, 2012 in the Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 4:00PM Monday in the Silver Road Baptist Church, Oakboro, NC, with Rev. Gene Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 3:00PM. Neal was born October 24, 1927, a son of the late Abner Monroe Nixon Sr. and Bessie Ivey Nixon. He was a US veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rice Nixon. Survivors include a son, Neal Nixon II (Chrystal) of Locust; two daughters, Theresa Hamilton (Joe) of Carrollton, GA and June Baxter of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Jim Nixon of Palmetto, GA, Frank Nixon (Lettie) of Marietta, GA; a sister, Pauline Nixon Cagle of College Park, GA. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
