Nicole Yolanda McNair Baucom was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on January 16, 1977, and was a daughter of the late Beverly Sharon McNair and Zim Townsend. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 30, 2026, at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, North Carolina at the age of 49.
She was a 1995 graduate of Anson High School and had worked with 3M Corporation in assembly, where they manufactured equipment for firefighters. Nicole loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and cooking. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Those who are left to cherish her memory are: her husband of 25 years, Antoine L.Baucom; her children, Kandice McNair, Raven Bennett (Richard Truesdale), Anyie Baucom (Zion Witherspoon), and Ameisha Baucom; her grandchildren, Are’yonna Bennett, Zy’Quarious McNair, Khalil Wilson, Jayceon Chambers, Adonis McNair, Sincere Truesdale, and Zion Witherspoon, Jr.; her father, Zim Townsend; her brothers and sister, Kevin Cason (Tiffany), Lakeisha Cason, and Brandy Liles; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shanta Baucom, Tiffany Baucom, Lucretia Baucom, Bryan Lemon, and Clyde Ingram (Telisha); her aunts and uncles, Valerie Powe (Cary Jr.), Gala Harrington (Steve), Weldon Lindsey, and Donte McNair; and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mareco McNair, her grandmother, Ella Mae Lindsey
The funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2026 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Life Christian Ministry Church Cemetery in Morven.
There will be no public viewing and the family is gathering at the home on West Wall Street in Wadesboro.
