MORVEN – On Saturday, February 20, 2021, Mr. Reese Clark Gainey, 59, passed away at Atrium Health Anson in Wadesboro. The family will greet friends Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 1:00pm until 2:30pm at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro. A service will follow at 3:00pm by the graveside in Morven Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Grose officiating. Reese was born October 21, 1961 in Ft. Benning, GA and was a son of the late R.C. Gainey and the late Ruby Mae Lundy Gainey. He was a retired member of Morven Volunteer Fire Department with nearly 30 years of service and was employed with Norton Doors in Monroe. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Ryan Gainey (Misti) of Oakboro; his granddaughters, Raygan and Paislee; his brothers, Carl Gainey (Tammie Mills) of Wadesboro and Ronnie Gainey (Kim) of McFarlan ; his nephews and niece, Scott Gainey (Nina Stone) of Wallace, SC, Rory Gainey (Nicole Goode) of Knoxville, IA, Rhett Gainey (Kaleigha) of Ankney, IA, Joyce Gainey of McFarlan and Chris Gainey (Amanda) of Cheraw, SC and their families and a very special friend who was like a brother, Kerry Polson (Debra) and their children, Michael and Jordan of Morven. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Janice Gainey, and Wanda Gainey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morven Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
