Renee Tyson Thompson

ANSONVILLE – On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Mrs. Renee Tyson Thomspon, passed away peacefully at Atrium Northeast in Concord.

Renee was born January 13, 1955, in Mecklenburg County, NC and was a daughter of the late Charlie Strawn Tyson and the late Kathleen Furr Beard. She was a graduate of Garringer High School.

In 1999, she became an agent with Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Wadesboro and maintained a successful career in insurance ever since. She built her client base and business on the principles of good customer service and taking care of families.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Billy Thompson; her brother, Larry Tyson and wife Debbie of Charlotte and their sons, Jeffrey Tyson and Brett Tyson, her twin brother, Ronnie Tyson and wife, Cheri of Wadesboro and their sons, Chuck Tyson and Kevin Tyson, and her sister, Debbie Williams and husband, Tommy of Lilesville and their daughters, Mendy Mullis and Terrin Harrington and her brother-in-law, Scott Thompson of Ansonville.

In addition to to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Henry; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Edith Thompson; her sister-in-law, Shelia Drake and her niece, Anna Gaddy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery Fund, c/o, Robert Burr, 1287 Dickie Little Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170. or to Friends of the Anson County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 828, Wadesboro, NC 28170.

There will be a private graveside service in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ansonville. Plans for a celebration of life service will be shared at a later date.
