WADESBORO - On Thursday, May 1, 2025, in the early hours of the morning, Rev. Willis Taylor "Bo" Treadaway, 84, heard the welcome words of his Lord and Savior, well done good and faithful servant and he went to his heavenly home.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Brown Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Williams and Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday and other times at the home.
Bo was born August 23, 1940, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Willis Alexander Treadaway and the late Stella Munlin Treadaway. He was a graduate of Wadesboro High School. For many years, he worked with West Knitting Mills in Wadesboro.
He answered the call into gospel ministry and served many churches in and around Anson County as pulpit supply when pastors were away and served in nursing home and prison ministries. He served as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and Victory Baptist Church. He was often called on to minster to people in the community and conducted funerals for many of his family and friends. He took serious his call to ministry and service. He was a member of Brown Creek Baptist Church.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Jane Martin Treadaway; his daughter, Joy Pope (Tony) of Polkton; his step-daughter, Patty Ray of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Bree Bowers (Clay), Sarah Pope, Drew Treadaway and Hollie Treadaway; his great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Ramsey Bowers; his step-grandchildren, Ann Ray and Elizabeth Ray; his brother, Jack Treadaway (Mary) of Concord; his sisters-in-law, Louise Treadaway of Polkton and Louise Treadaway of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families.
Bo liked to stay busy! He enjoyed gardening at home with flowers and plants. He always looked forward to time shared with his family and friends and especially keeping up with his high school friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Cornelia Treadaway, his son, Jeff Treadaway, his grandson, Seab Pope, his brothers, Ronald Treadaway, Donald Treadaway, Langford “Butch” Treadaway and his stepmother, Mary Treadaway.
