MCFARLAN - Mr. Richard Jones Johnson, 69, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at McLeod Health in Cheraw, SC. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro. Richard was born August 26, 1947 in Anson County, NC a son of Flora Nelle McRae Johnson and the late Thomas Calvin Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his sons, Kevin Scott Johnson of Jersey City, NJ and Julius Dane Johnson of Laurinburg; his girlfriend, Sue Hill of McFarlan; his mother, Flora Nelle Johnson of McFarlan; his sister and brothers, Gail Whittington and Jeff (Shannon) Johnson both of McFarlan and Joe (Rona) Johnson and Perry (Sharon) Johnson both of Cheraw, SC and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson of Cheraw, SC. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Johnson. In lieu flowers, the family suggests memorials being made to the charity of the donors choice.
