Mr. Robert Franklin "Tenny" Pinkston, 92, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 26, 2019. He graduated Deep Creek High School and it was while he was in high school that he met and fell in love with his future bride to be, Rosa Elizabeth "Peggy" Burr. Tenny went on to work at several jobs over the years, Hornwood, Ballet Hosiery, and the job he really loved best, Pinkston Lawn Mowers (now Pinkstons Sales and Service). Tenny was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where he attended the Wesley Bible Class. Over the years he enjoyed traveling, square dancing, card playing, but most of all, time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Peggy Pinkston of the home; Robert Michael "Mike" Pinkston of Anchorage, AK, Randy Thomas Pinkston of Wadesboro; Pamela Denise Amberson (Steven) of Portland, ME; Todd Lee Pinkston of Wadesboro; six grandchildren, Jonathan Pinkston, Preston Pinkston, Amy Pinkston, Spencer Amberson, Elliot Amberson, and Ashley J. Smith; and 5 great-grandchildren, Preston Pinkston Jr., Isaac Pinkston, Jace Pinkston, Haleigh Jantzen, and Juliana Jantzen. In addition to his parents, Tenny was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Pinkston and two sisters, Zerlene Ratliff and Patty Norwood. The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Homecare and Hospice for their gracious and loving support during Tennys last few weeks. The family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 118 E. Morgan Street or to Liberty Hospice, 119 W. Wade Street, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
