Rodney Dean Sikes

Peachland - Mr. Rodney Dean Sikes, 50, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his home in Peachland surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be 2:00PM Saturday in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery located at 4447 Mills Rd., Polkton, NC. The family will greet friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Leavitt Funeral Home. Rodney was born in Union County on February 2, 1965, a son of Phyllis Jowers Sikes and the late Max Ray Sikes. He graduated from Bowman High School in 1983. In 1994, he went to work with his father-in-law, Joe Estridge, at Estridge Lock and Key. Rodney proved to have a knack for the trade and was soon a licensed locksmith himself. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Angela Estridge Sikes of the home; a daughter, Ashley (Jeremy) Tarlton of Peachland; a son, Jarrod Sikes of Peachland; one granddaughter, Bailey Rae Tarlton; and his mother, Phyllis Sikes of Peachland. Also surviving is a brother, Ricky (Denise) Sikes of Peachland; a sister, Regina Sikes and her fianc Rick of Waxhaw; a niece, Pamela Hanson; a great-nephew, Jordan; his step-mother, Sherry Sikes; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Estridge.
