Roger Boyce Dutton

Lilesville – Mr. Roger Boyce Dutton, age 85, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at his home. Services will be private. Roger was born in Anson County on May 15, 1935, a son of the late Henry Guilford and Dorothy Ruth Downer Dutton. As a young man, he faithfully performed his patriotic duty and served in the US Army. Upon his return to Wadesboro, Roger went to work with the Duff-Norton Co., where he enjoyed a long career and made lifelong friends. Following his retirement, he decided he didn’t like not working very much and began to look for work again. He found a new start with Precision Machine and worked there another 20 years. Survivors include a son, Harold Dutton (Hope) of Salisbury; a daughter, Debra Denise Ruumbaugh (Mike) of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Ashley Holshouser, Alison Dutton, and Luke Dutton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Clanton Dutton.
