POLKTON - On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Mr. Ronald Joe Stegall, 73, passed away at Autumn Care of Marshville.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the family residence in Polkton.
Ronald was born December 22, 1952 in Union County, NC and was a son of the late Albert Stegall and the late Violet Louetta Helms Stegall. He was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and a veteran of the United States Army.
He worked for many years at Wansonia Manufacturing in Wadesboro and later worked with Pilgrim's Pride Feed Mill in Wingate.
Ronald enjoyed shooting pool, playing poker, going fishing, and porch sitting with his beloved dog, Jack watching the birds. He was an avid Duke Basketball fan. He also enjoyed meeting every morning with his friends at Whit's Convenience Store in Polkton, and he never met a stranger.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Sissy Watkins Stegall; his daughters, Anna Stegall Bullock and Felicia Stegall Ruppe both of Polkton; his grandchildren, Courtney Stegall of Gastonia, Mike Bullock of Ft. Mill, SC and Ronald Graham of Polkton; his brothers, Kenneth Stegall (Cynthia), Johnny Stegall (Debbie) and Mike Stegall all of Marshville; his sister-in-law, Dong Stegall of Spring Lake; his mother-in-law, Dot Carpenter of Wadesboro; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Watkins of Wilmington, Linda Hasty (Joe) of Monroe, Barbara Compton (Gary) of Polkton, Larry Watkins (Sally) of Peachland and Anna Thomas (Gary) of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Stegall and his brother, Reece Stegall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffin Cemetery Fund, c/o, Oakdale Baptist Church, 3304 NC-218, Polkton, NC 28135.
