Mrs. Roxie Louise Pendergraft Taylor, 82, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her home. There will be a celebration of her life at her home Sunday, October 30, 2011 with a graveside service following at 4:00PM in the Williams Family Cemetery. Roxie was born in Jonesville, VA April 9, 1929 a daughter of the late William and Fannie Potett Pendergraft. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her children, Glenda (Bob) Haggerty of Lilesville, Johnny Taylor of Pennington Gap, VA, Andrew (Hope) Taylor, Debbie Taylor, Frankie (Vicky) Taylor and Janie Evans all of Jonesville, VA and Star (Charles) Elkins of Gordonsville, VA; her grandchildren, Sue (Neil) Williams, with whom she made her home, of Lilesville, Tina Muse of Wadesboro, Richard (Stephanie) Atkinson of Cape Coral, FL, Glenda (Greg) Cellini of Cochranville, PA, Veronica (Doug) Ritter of Carney's Point, NJ, Marsha Rizzo of New Castle, DE, Sarah Sumpter, Sarah Taylor, Sophie Taylor, Jackie (Chris) Neff and Sammie Evans all of Jonesville, VA, Jada (Bryan) Keller, Charles J. Elkins, Brittany (Derek) Elkins and Jill Elkins all of Gordonsville, VA; her great-grandchildren, Pamela (Mike) Waller of Lilesville, Ashley (Shaun) James of Wadesboro, Britany (Preston Causey) Williams of Rockingham, Lauren Atkinson and Richard Atkinson, Jr. both of Cape Coral, FL, Drew Cellini and Mia Cellini both of Cochranville, PA, Tiara Ritter and Kyle Ritter both of Carney's Point, NJ and Joseph Rizzo, Jr. and Santino Rizzo both of New Castle, DE; her great-grandchildren, Jesse and Dylan James, Myah and Ayden Waller, Collyn and Coltyn Neff, Raylee Keller and Kayden Elkins; her brother, Ernest Bradley Pendergraft of Dryden, VA and her best-friend who is like family, Phyllis McLendon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Taylor, her daughter-in-law, Hope Taylor; her grandson-in-law, Joseph Rizzo and her sisters and brothers, Bernice Moore, Betty Davis and Billy and Burl Pendergraft.
