Scott Thomas Goodwin

WADESBORO - On Monday, July 28, 2025, Mr. Scott Thomas Goodwin, 41, passed away.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck McKnight and Rev. Cliff McKnight officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday and at other times at the home.

Scott was born June 16, 1984, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of Phyllis Turner Goodwin and the late Jerry Alton Goodwin. He was a graduate of Anson High School. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and later graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He worked with the State Employees Credit Union in Charlotte.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his mother, Phyllis Goodwin of Wadesboro; his brother, Paul Goodwin of Wadesboro; his aunts and uncles, Teresa Biggers (David) of Wadesboro, David Turner (Carol) of Morven, Russell Goodwin (Debbie) of Polkton, Larry Bullard of Rockingham and Sandra Pliescott (Woody) of Goldsboro and his cousins and their families.

While in school, Scott was an excellent athlete, having played both baseball and football. He also played sports with the parks and recreation and Little League in Anson County. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Azile Goodwin, and Lillian Turner.
