Peachland - Mr. Stacy Bobby McCollum, 36, died suddenly Monday, July 9, 2012, while at home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday in Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul McClure and Rev. Jim Church officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00PM at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro. The youngest child of Bobby and Pam Curran McCollum, Stacy was born October 17, 1975. He graduated from Anson High School in 1994 and went on to earn his BS degree at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg. An accomplished athlete, Stacy excelled at both baseball and football in high school and baseball in college. He was a self-employed farmer with McCollum Farms and a man who enjoyed his work and his family. In 2001, Stacy married the love of his life, Kristie Pesce and together they had two children, Brianna Pesce McCollum and Genna Curran McCollum. In addition to his wife, children and parents, survivors include his sister and her husband, Geneca and Donnie Spivey and their children, Kendall, Ian, and Logan, all of Polkton; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lina McCollum of Polkton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Vickie Sheppard Pesce of Peachland; and brother-in-law, David Pesce of Lilesville. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Brianna and Genna College Fund, c/o Geneca Spivey, 445 Old NC 742, Polkton, NC 28135. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
