Steven Mitchell "Steve" Morgan

MORVEN - On Friday, December 29, 2023, Mr. Steven Mitchell "Steve" Morgan, 70,  passed away peacefully at Wadesboro Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Grose officiating. Interment will follow in Morven Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Steve was born August 13, 1953, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late J. B. Morgan and the late Maxine Donahue Morgan. In his early years, he worked with his father and brothers with J. B. Morgan Logging, then Wulzenco (Wansona), and lastly with Wilco in Wadesboro. He made many contacts and friends through his jobs and often reconnected with high school classmates.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters and brothers, Sherrill Henry of Morven, Joe (Becky) Morgan of Virginia Beach, VA, Phil Morgan of Chesterfield, SC and Gina (David) Wooten of Cumming, GA; his nephews and nieces, Eddie (Shannon) Henry, Dean (Brandon) Thomas, Breyene (Jason) Barnes, Matt Morgan, Ian (Ashlee) Morgan, and Megan Wooten; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Lennon, Shaler and Cartney Henry, Ivy Thomas and Eli and Anslee Barnes.

Steve's family is most grateful to his friend, Brenda Carpenter for all of her support of him during his successful kidney transplant and his brief battle with cancer. They are also grateful to the staff of Wadesboro Health and Rehab for the loving manner in which they cared for Steve.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Church, c/ Sydney Pratt, 6249 Pit Rd. Morven, NC 28119.
