ANSONVILLE - “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind & heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled and afraid.” John 14:27
On Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 2:00pm surrounded by his family, Sylvester Chisholm fulfilled his life’s purpose and transcended into eternal rest.
Sylvester, 79, was born to the late Lillie Mae Chisholm.
He was born in Wadesboro, N.C. where he attended Anson County Schools. Sylvester gave his life to Christ at an early age.
Sylvester dedicated over 20 years of his life to working for the city of Albermarle. He became known as the “Boss Man” to all his peers. He was truly a jack of all trades.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Arlester Collin Gatewood (Daisy), William Albert Chiselom (Linda), James Lester Harrison, and one sister, Lora Jean McBride (Paul).
He leaves his cherished memories with his sister, Berdia Mae Gaddy (late James) and his nieces and nephews who were like his children, his cousins, and his friends.
Though he is no longer with us, Sylvester’s spirit & the memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire & comfort those who love him.
We wish to acknowledge the many expressions of love, concern, and compassion from friends and loved ones during this time. Words can not express the strength you have given us during these most difficult times. Sylvester’s bright spirit live on is us all.
Sincerely, The Chisholm Family
