MORVEN – On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Mr. Thomas Wyatt Williams, 74, passed away peacefully at Richmond County Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Thomas was born October 28, 1951 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Maynard Defate Williams and the late Dorothy Luree Seigler Williams. He was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and had worked with Anson County Government as Animal Control Officer for more than 30 years. He also worked with his parents at Jones Creek Fish Camp for many years.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his companion of 36 years, Melvina Harris; his children, Terry Williams (Wendy) of Wadesboro, Brian Williams (April) of Chesterfield, SC, Jason Williams (Magan Honeycutt) of Wadesboro and Kimberly Williams (Derrek Tice) of Lilesville; his step-children, Bobbi Paxton (Freddie) of Lilesville, Melinda Spencer (David) Of Morven, Kenneth Harris (Becky) of Ruby, SC and Jerri Harris of Morven; his sister, Mary Lou Black (Bobby) of Wadesboro and his 23 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Williams, and by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Josephine Williams.
The family is grateful to the staff of Richmond County Hospice Haven for the love and care they gave Thomas and for the support they gave them as well.
In keeping with Thomas’s wishes, he will be cremated and have no public services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice Haven, 1119 N US 1 HWY, Rockingham, NC 28379.
