Timothy Reid Laney

Monroe - On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, Mr. Timothy Reid Laney, 64, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.

Services will be 11:30 am Saturday, February 26, 2022 by the graveside in Bethel Cemetery in Wadesboro.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.

Tim was born December 31, 1957 in Union County, NC and was a son of the late John Wilson Laney and Sarah Stegall Laney. He was a graduate of Forest Hills High School. He was a longtime poultry farmer in Marshville and later retired from Allvac in Monroe with 17 years of service.

He loved the simple things in life. A devoted husband and father, he was a hard worker and provider for his family. He enjoyed watching western and war movies, especially, Gunsmoke. Time spent with his family at the lake camping and fishing was among his favorite past times.     

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tonya Long and husband, Jeremy of Charlotte and Lisa Laney of Monroe; his grandchildren, Evan Long of Charlotte and  Hannah Faircloth of Monroe; and his brother and sister, Ted Laney and wife, Marilyn of Pageland, SC and Joni Cox and husband, Kenny of Monroe.
