Varana Hough Martin

WADESBORO - On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Mrs. Varana Hough Martin, 82, passed away peacefully at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Varana was born December 21, 1939, in Richmond County, NC and was a daughter of the late James Franklin Hough and the late Katie White Hough. She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and trained for medical technology studies at Bowman Gray Hospital and Charlotte Memorial Hospital. She retired from Anson County Hospital after working in the lab there for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy Martin and Cameron Martin and wife, Denise of Wadesboro and her brother, Ronnie Hough of Independence, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Crawford Martin and her sister, Nancy Hough Coggin.

The family is very grateful to the staff of Richmond County Hospice and Hospice Haven for all they have done for Varana and their family.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
