Victor Chester McGee, Jr. died August 5, 2026 in Wilmington, NC.

Services will be Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM by the graveside in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Polkton, NC. The family will greet friends following the service.

Born in Lenoir, North Carolina, August 16,1941, he was the son of Victor Chester McGee,Sr. and Anna Maria Shankle McGee. After graduating from Wadesboro High School in 1959, he attended Oak Ridge Military Academy, and then received his degree at Wingate. After serving in the Army Reserves, Vic became an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in North Carolina and Virginia. Later, he was employed by Leggett/Belk in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Following the birth of his grandson in 2000, Vic retired to Wilmington.

His sister Delia Ann McGee Shoemaker preceded him in death. He is survived by Anne Braswell McGee, his wife (Wilmington); Melinda Ann McGee Chipley, his daughter; Paul Simpson Chipley, his son-in-law; and Benjamin Myers Chipley, his grandson. (Wrightsville Beach).

He is also survived by his brothers Joseph Hill McGee (Charlotte) and John Emery McGee (Wilmington); his nieces Hillary McGee Lacouture (Charlotte) and Emery McGee Moore (Birmingham, AL) ; his nephews Clayton McGee (Wilmington) and Russell Shoemaker ( New York).
