Willie Gene Parson, Sr.

Wadesboro - Mr. Willie Gene Parson was born March 23, 1946 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Benjamin James Parson and the late Pauline Bennett Parson. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 while a patient at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. He was 72 years of age. He was a graduate of Faison High School and had worked for a number of years for BFI Waste Management. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary Pratt Parson of the home; his children, Willie Gene Parson, Jr. and wife, Diane and Amy Arlene Radford and husband, Artis; his grandchildren, Olivia Alexis Parson and Aaliyah Breanna Parson; his brothers and sisters, Walter James Parson, Lilly Ruth Sturdivant and husband, Larry, and Mary Connie Parson; his sisters-in-law, Ida Lee Causey, Lucy Pratt and Sarah Parson Pratt; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie William Parson and a sister-in-law, Louvena Young. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 1:30pm until 2:00pm Monday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home on Reddington Street, Wadesboro.
